Ozempic is not indicated for weight loss, it is medication for diabetes to help manage blood glucose levels. If you are using ozempic only to lose weight you are abusing the drug.

We have a huge crisis of metabolic diseases like type 2 diabetes and unfortunately we’re beyond the stage of telling people to just eat low carb and fast between meals. Too many people are already insulin resistant and need medication to prevent complications from type 2 diabetes (vision loss, foot infections, kidney failure, heart disease etc). I also have to emphasise that you can be thin and still have type 2 diabetes due to insulin resistance.

This is a drug for treating type 2 diabetes but these fuckwits are using it for cosmetic weightloss.

    It isn’t FOR that.

    THAT’S NOT WHAT IT’S FOR.

This is basically Ivermectin all over again, a pharmaceutical that’s effective in its specific designated niche ONLY and NOT good for whatever fucking fad usage came up lately.

If obesity is literally going to fucking kill you imminently, you’re trading away definitely getting wrecked in favor of risk of getting wrecked, and that’s a decision that in a better world doctors would be helping people make SOBERLY, but because MURR’KUH HERP DERP where doctors get a commission on the drugs they prescribe (no matter how illegal it SOMETIMES may be, they find a way!) they are full on into drug-peddling mode.

Luckily I managed to start scraping my life back together before I would’ve needed this treatment myself, but it had been on the table, not as a ‘hip new way to get a beach bod’ but as a ‘save your fucking life you idiot’.

And guess what: if I stop doing what I’ve been doing instead of taking Ozempic? 50lbs I’m already down (and the more I’m trying to work off) would come back TOO. BECAUSE DIABETES IS A PERSISTENT CONDITION, NOT AN INVASIVE PATHOGEN.

It’s like your life is now a rain storm, forever. They can prescribe you an umbrella, and that can keep you dry as long as you’re using it. But if you ever STOP, GUESS WHAT FUCKO: YER GETTIN SOAKED.

Likewise, if i ever start eating carbohydrates and starch on a regular basis ever again, that would put my umbrella away. Because the metabolism of this body is GIGAFUCKED FOREVER. Similarly to how a neurotypical person can safely indulge a beer or two every couple weeks, but if an alcoholic gets so much as one fucking drop of ethanol they might collapse into a relapse.

ozempic isn’t for yuppies who want to take the easy way out. it’s for people whose bodies have lost the ability to healthily process glucose.
