I’m not really sure why Russian popular opinion is relevant in this case.

Yeah, I feel like any kind of poll that comes out of Russia right now is kinda meaningless.
On top of that, what do you think russians will answer when the “moscow-based levada center” asks them if they would not support Putin if X happens…
Yeah no shit is it “complicated”. The question is mostly if you want to support the war in a vague and indirect sense, or if you prefer supporting the war directly from a penal battalion.

Also, most Ukrainians against ending Russian war if captured land not returned. Thus, the killing continues.
I’m against it, too. I’m definitely not happy about it, but I think the only thing worse than the war continuing would be to give up and reward Putin for his war crimes. He must not be allowed to keep any Ukrainian territory, including Crimea.
If there was a solution that didn’t involve further bloodshed, then great, but that doesn’t seem possible right now.
