i have APC ups cs650, it holds my server for 10-15min. Is it possible to hook up an extra battery to prolong runtime? I am thinking to hook up car battery, 12v 50-80Ah. would that work? any issues I may face?

If the model allows for expansion or chaining battery packs, of course. Do not use a car battery unless you want to die. Best bet is buying a bigger one.
