Hello fellow tinkerers!
I’m looking to install security cameras in and around my house but, like many of you, I have a few requirements. I want the cameras to be local only, no cloud access. I would like to be able to access them from mine and my partners phone. Preferably POE. Ideally low cost.
What setups do you all use and what are your opinions on them?
A PoE switch with a few Hikvision cameras connected to it, segregated on their own VLAN, connecting back to my home server which runs Blue Iris.
Remote access is via a VPN to my home server.
Works a treat.
