Hi self hosting community. I’m looking for recommendations for a VOD server, with some specific requirements:

• Ability to browse a folder structure on the server to pick the file to view. If a file is added to a folder, the server shouldn’t need to reindex
• HLS support.
• Adaptive bitrate on the fly transcoding would be great
• Some level of password protection or user management
• docker based is a plus

Plex / Emby / Jellyfin are all good, but I find to be too bloated.

I have toyed with nginx-vod using kaltura but it doesn’t support on the fly transcoding to lower bitrates (files need to be pre-transcoded)

Any thoughts from the community? Your help is much appreciated.
