    The Hortus Botanicus in Amsterdam is one of the places I like to visit the most around here - especially the tropical section. I am originally from the tropics, and so I feel a little bit closer to home there.

      I’ve heard of the Hortus. It’s such a great name. We don’t have much blooming in the garden right now as it’s the middle of our, admittedly mild winter, but here is a Tahitian Gardenia. Gardenia taitensis which is growing in our fragrance garden.

        A ‘fragrance garden’ sounds wonderful! I have never smelled this plant, but the petals remind me both of a white Plumeria rubra and rhododendrons, so I am imagining a similar smell.
