This OLED video and this video in particular I found to be really inspiring. He is a guy with a good amount of industry experience practicing hobby science at a high level. Since I am a hobbyist myself, I look at him and think “Yeah, that’s me in 30 years! There’s hope!!”. In a sense, it is freeing to see evidence that one can play with very interesting concepts even outside of both academia and industry if they choose to.
I like to watch youtubers that focus on concepts that would be dangerous and/or difficult to explore without some technical knowledge and specialized tools. Some I can recommend are:

Thanks for the other recommendations too, although Styropyro is already one of my favorites and I’ve already watched a good number of Integza’s videos lol. Will check out PlasmaChannel for sure.
