I don’t know why so many places report on this like it’s noteworthy that a (mostly) 2d Switch game can be emulated well.
I thought they would implement Denuvo in this one. That’s the only thing I’m surprised about. Switch emulation is incredible these days.
I doubt Nintendo will put Denuvo in any of their games, they’ve always been very mindful of their games being playable even without an internet-connected Switch.
What does that have to do with Nintendo using it in their games? That’s Irdeto who decided to offer their DRM for Switch developers. As far as I can tell Nintendo is not involved in it, beyond presumably giving their OK.
I thought that because historically Nintendo has been very anti emulation and blocking emulation is one of the features of this DRM.
Curious why I was downvoted for providing the source that informed my interpretation. Am I being toxic or not contributing to the conversation?
Because the person you replied to gave a good reason why Nintendo wouldn’t want to implement it, and your link didn’t have any information that would refute that.
“Specifically, the first tool it rolled out is Nintendo Switch Emulator Protection, which protects games launching on Nintendo’s hybrid console from piracy.”
Doesn’t say anything about working offline, which is what that commenter is saying Nintendo would be concerned about.
We’re still talking about a device built on the basis of a Tegra released in 2015: almost decade old tech.
Video is cool but they don’t sprint a single time?
Ssshhhr. Moving fast lowers fps.
TBF the controls are a mess for a modern game. Run feels very laboured.
