I have 9 more such paintings on the topic, but every time I try to upload something in the “body” of the post, it fails with an error… so I just uploaded just this one. Enjoy!

    I love this!

Also…how does one pronounce “gouache”? Wikipedia was very informative on the technique, but not the pronunciation

I went to art school, used the medium. Its pronunciation is similar to the word “squash” except with a “goo” or “gwa” sound at the beginning. Sort of like “gooawsh” or “gwash”.

OP, good work, gouache is one of the more difficult mediums out there as essentially it’s opaque watercolor. Gouache is a very unforgiving medium, as it’s very easy to end up with a washed out mess the more you try to fix mistakes.

But there’s a reason old masters used gouache as it refined their technique and forced them to think carefully. They generally used it to sketch and prepare studies for an oil painting.

Not sure how to write it in a way that informs pronunciation, since English is not my first language. But a way to do it is to view a few videos about it on youtube. :)
