Why are images coming from startrek.website often blank? Including the community icon and everyones profile picture if they are on this instance.

The post image should be hosted on imgur as it says, but it still won’t load.

If you are using adblocker try adding @@||startrek.website/pictrs/image/ to your filters and after that do Ctrl + F5 here

The problem is lemmy still caches the image itself instead of showing the actual image, so in the default UI it’s essentially the same as uploading it to the server unless you click on the imgur link.

It’s pretty annoying at times that it can’t be disabled since it also screws with all my gifs

I am not a tech guy by any measure, but as I understand it, it might be related a security option on your browser blocking trackers? For whatever reason .website extensions show up on a lot of spam lists.

Murf would win I think. He’s essentially indestructible. We saw him eat a photon grenade and he was fine. Moopsie just ate organic things.

I put out a call for viable in-universe opponents to Moopsy on Mastodon.

      My own list included:

      • Mellanoid slimeworms (i.e., Murf)

      • Armus

      • Species 8472

      • Q and other transcendent beings.

Others have pointed out that Changelings don’t have bones.

Some have suggested that a Changeling might keep a Moopsy as a pet. A predator that liquified solids could have a certain morbid appeal one might imagine.

Well, if we’re looking for characters to fight against Moopsy, I’d like to see how a doopler would stack up.

Then again, nobody has lasted more than a second with the cute little guy. Is a Moopsy weak against *anything * other than outer-space (assuming that it even needs to breathe)?
