Hi, I haven’t been playing seriously for 10+ years. From what I see, modern design requires healers to actively participate in fights and damage enemies. Is that correct? I don’t enjoy that mix much, that’s why I prefer playing support classes in the first place. Are there more classic healer class+spec combinations in modern WoW?
Holy priest/shaman, but any really good healer will dps when there is nothing to heal. You can get away with not doing dmg in low keys or heroic raiding but more difficult content you will need to help. If you wanna play support, there is augmentation evoker rn, but it supports while doing dmg
You can just not push the damage spells. (Unless you are Disc priest).
The expectation is that you help where you can, especially in M+ where there are only 5 people. This is more for medium-high level keys, low keys no one is going to care.

Idk, I tried a holy paladin and it seems that you must damage in order to generate power that is required for some healing spells.
I’m not a paladin expert but I think you can spec in a way that doesn’t require attacking.
Paladin and disc are the ones where you mostly have to. Maybe you can spec pala without DPS Not Sure but The other Specs you can Just not dps Outside of huge Keys it will be fine.
