I wish Richard Stallmann all the best and many many more years to come.
His reveal starts at timestamp 02:00.
I wanted to link the original video from https://audio-video.gnu.org/video/gnu40/rms-gnu40.webm, but the server seems overloaded. I try to download it and host it on Peertube when i get the chance. For now i have to link a random source on Youtube unfortunately. (did not link to piped because that breaks the thumbnail…)
i do honestly emphatic for his well being and hope he’ll be doing well in time, though i’m not personally a fan of his character
that said, it’s surprising to look at the video, that he looks like a more normal person in appearance, just by losing out his usual trademark wizard looks
Stallman can be abrasive at times, but in the end, he’s rarely wrong. He’s passionate, and the world is a better place because of him

I can’t defend his stance on CSAM/statutory rape and I’m sure as hell not going to try. I can ignore his quirky shit. Not this.
He’s made some amazing contributions to the world of computing though, both in code and community.
It leaves my view on the man quite polarised.
He doesn’t have any controversial “stance” anymore, he has many times taken back the things he said and he has apologised often.
Here’s some article I found mentioning this (also check comments): https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2019/09/richard-stallman-leaves-mit-after-controversial-remarks-on-rape/
You mean his comments taken out of context for a media hitpiece by an organization ideologically opposed to the free software movement?
oh, that looks like ascites… hope he can recover, cancer is shit
Here is an alternative Piped link(s):

Piped is a privacy-respecting open-source alternative frontend to YouTube.
I’m open-source; check me out at GitHub.
also just half to add I’m surprised that Stallman didn’t make a comment on the lady using an Macbook to read her question.
poor guy, he is very inspirational for fighting for digital freedom and I wish him many, many more years. also, I’m giggling to myself because I’m watching the video on GNU/Linux using Librewolf on Invidious. Long live FOSS
