Mastodon will go mainstream real soon. If Twitter does this, Mastodon might eat Elon’s lunch immediately.
The things is ready to go. It basically just needs a domain name. And there are plenty of orgs who will be ready to control their own posting.
I’m not as bullish on Lemmy. Here there are still kinks to work out (sometimes literally), and I think Lemmy requires more of a critical mass than Mastodon does.
I want Twitter to die more than my continued using of Twitter at this point.
It sucks all the other social media dry by it’s very presense.
Let’s go back to an amalgamation of various socials or better yet: Internet forums/message boards.
