A remote Air Force base in Alaska is getting its own nuclear reactor::Eielson Air Force Base will get some of its energy from a small nuclear reactor that’s scheduled to go online in 2027.

      The base already uses a coal/oil plant for 33 megawatts of power. The micro nuclear reactor would augment 5 megawatts to start, with expectations to expand once up and running.
