Jets gonna Jet. Tough break though. On the bright side he is 1-0 as the qb for the Jets, #undefeated lol.

If he needs surgery will he require his surgical team to show up unmasked? Bet after his own research he just takes some ivermectin and walks it off.

Completely torn achilles tendons aren’t real. He should be ashamed to be promoting a fake condition.

So he’s basically an extra QB coach they paid $75M for. But if he makes Zach competent, maybe it would be worth it.

I’m a Bils fan and I’m embarrassed that Zach was the most successful QB on the field last night.

That’s a good point. An expensive qb coach but hey if he can turn Zach around… I’m not a Jets fan either. Just here for the chaos.

Maybe the NFL is different from the NHL, but players on LTIR in the NHL don’t count towards the cap. I have to imagine there’s something similar in the NFL.

Nope. Anything you pay (except one year veteran minimum deals that get an exception to be counted at a slightly lower number) hits the cap.

You can manipulate timing with contract structure, but there is no way to pay a player without it counting to the salary cap

There is always the Don Muhlbach option. Rodgers retires, it lowers the cap hit to just this year for a prorated amount, they get to re-sign him as a coach/assistant, and they might get a compensatory pick out of it.

He didn’t immunize himself against that? Seems like a mistake on his part to me.

Heroic dose of acid and a couple peyote buttons and he won’t even need his legs. He can just float around under center

The one thing in his favor is that he was already a pocket passing QB and it’s his front foot when throwing, so the losses you usually think of when it comes to an achilles injury aren’t as significant. But he is 40 years old, so any significant injury at that age is going to be a possible career ender.

It absolutely will affect his ability to scramble, and that was a huge part of his game. He would constantly roll out of the pocket or take off if he needed to or had an open lane to run. Sucks man. He was fun to watch.

You’re thinking of Rodgers from several years ago. Coming from a Packers fan, he hasn’t done those things in several years. He’s been largely a pocket passer for 4 or 5 years.

The Jets will be paying for him either way, either via salary or dead cap. So I’d think they would want him playing if he’s able.

I’m sorry for all the jets fans. You had the team and the coaching staff to be competitive. You’ll have to improvise now. Hope you get a good season.

Fellow Dolfan here. This sucks. You want to beat the Jets on their best day, not when they’ve got a replacement QB.

Exactly. Nobody wishes for an injury, especially to someone as hyped as Rodgers to the Jets. I wanted to see him crash and burn while completely healthy

That sack looked very routine too, no huge blindsided hit, just a regular takedown with a slightly weird angle on his legs. Real bad luck.

That’s a fucking awful injury to get. My mom get it a few years back training for a marathon. Took her a year before she could walk again. She’s back training now but her doctor says its mostly scar tissue holding the tendon together now.

He’s gonna go live on a farm where he can laugh and play and drink ayahuasca and spread dangerous laughably false medical advice.
