    This sub isn’t particularly lively, but I don’t think it’s dead. I would classify it as “dormant” and lacking some structure and purpose.

    I have been wondering whether it would be possible to build a collaborative Genealogy software platform similar to WikiTree or Ancestry, but FOSS and based on the ActivityPub protocol. Users could host their own trees and federate instances with cousins, eventually resulting in one global tree.

    I don’t know how to build such a platform, but I figured folks on the fediverse might have some ideas.
