    No-one really know where Zoom comes from. It just popped up during the pandemic. Since the pandemic is over, Zoom will disappear sooner or later.

      Zoom was used pre pandemic by most big tech companies. It just so happened that the pandemic accelerated their success in the world outside the tech comps. However now I try to avoid them even more, already was a bad rep when they had no security so anyone else could join sessions.

        I am of the opinion that wfh is not part of their core business. For the last few years every initial job was done on Zoom. Every meeting with partners, vendors, and anyone external or offsite was done on Zoom. They don’t need wfh when all business for high level people is done over Zoom. This is perfect PR for them, they are telling the people that actually make the decisions that they are on their side. Thankfully all of the higher ups at my work have a technical background and hate the software.
