I’m currently on Season 4, almost done with it as I’m on “The Evil of the Daleks”. Who’s watched the older stuff before? How much?

I find it somewhat hard to follow (especially the reconstructions with stills) but I always have tvtropes + tardis.fandom to refer to as well.

I’ve watched them all. The first few seasons are quite a slog to get through, but they establish some very important information.

That’s why I’m at least playing them in the background while I work or clean. I actually really like some of the animated reconstructions, they let the artists do more than just rigidly recreate the lost footage for say, the Macra Terror.

I grew up watching them. I think I began watching just as Tom Baker became the Doctor. I just loved his manic energy the way he was always thinking through the next ten things he was going to do.

He knew you were bested long before you were

No. It was on PBS and I don’t even remember how I found it, just accidentally watched and was hooked, the half hour episodes were perfect for a 7yo

It’s really cool to see them slowly build out the lore - I love how regeneration was thought up before Time Lord for instance.

Once you get to the 3rd Doctor, it gets much better. They don’t need any reconstructions because all the episodes exist.

#4 will always be my favorite!
