FIrst of all, if you’re new to the game, sticking to Trade league is probably the wise thing to do, at least for the first few characters. In my case I played Trade since early 2.x versions.

On the other hand, if you feel tired with the game and feel that all you’re doing is looting meaningless fragments (= splinters & all currency that’s less than an exalt) then you are probably burned out and a possible reason for that is, well, trading. Trading makes gearing very straight forward and has tons of benefits, I would know because I have always engaged with the trade game. On the other hand, playing trade league and not engaging with it means you’re losing out and are not being as efficient as you could be. Using fusings, using jewelers, alts, chaos etc basically any currency is less cost efficient than selling it on pathofexile.com/trade. Why risk an average of 1000+ fusings for a 6 link when you can sell those fusings, get your 6 link and make some profit as well. This applies to almost all currency, div cards, fossils etc. and it probably makes you feel like you’re picking only meaningless fragments, which you are, if you are being efficient and engaging with trade.

Now back to Harvest and SSF. SSF is traditionally difficult for a few various reasons and one of the main ones is that it gets quite difficult to progress once you hit late game. Not having access to trade means getting better gear to do higher tier maps is difficult and time consuming. This is where Harvest comes to save the day. Harvest makes getting good enough gear easy so that progression doesn’t stagnate as much. In my opinion Harvest made SSF feel very good and now I feel less overloaded by meaningless fragment items because I actually need them for myself so I’m happy to pick them up.

Anyhow, yeah, this post can go on and on but I have to get back to work. Give SSF a try. I’m playing my first SSF and HC league ever and I will try to get that sweet level 90 to progress my Account achievements. It’ been a breeze so far with Harvest, getting 2x wands with +1 to chaos spells has taken me 0 effort.

Too-da-loo!
