The ability to create, edit and delete community groups.

Lets say a user is subscribed to many gaming communities, The user can create a group named “Gaming” and add all the gaming communities can be added to that group such as !skyrim@lemmy.world and !pcgaming@lemmy.ml.

And allowing a subscribed community be under multiple groups. Lets say a user has a group named “Tech” and another group named “Linux”. The user could have !linux@lemmy.ml under both the Tech grouo and Linux group.

When sorting your feed by subscription, you can filter your feed further by view all subscribed feeds or filtering what groups to see in your feed.

Seems like a duplicate of 818 (the issue with the most “thumbs up” in the lemmy issue tracker).

Not necessary. I am suggesting this as a user feature, not a moderator/community feature.

I’ve been experimenting with ways to design this and if anything federation holds it back. Lemmy kind of crams content into federation structures and this kind of showed me how limited it can be.

There isn’t much in Lemmy that can be assigned multiple editors. A community is the only thing that federates, with a list of multiple moderators… so I’m playing around with a community as a means to edit.
