    Yes, placing further responsibilities and more obligations on teachers will reduce the stress of the job. Don’t bother looking for ways to alleviate stress before it gets to the classroom, no. What a typical admin response.

      I went to a wellbeing workshop last year for teachers and the entire time was dedicated to explaining how it was the responsibility of teachers to practice wellbeing, and whilst I’m not against this in principle, I couldn’t help but think of the ways that lack of external support for teachers played such an important role. Telling teachers to “be less stressed” is sometimes good, but sometimes you just need someone to take some of your stress away.
