What kinda weapons would be developed to get through the hoop? Can you spray paint the force field, rendering the angel blind?

Unironically, excellent start to world building. Why would the halo provide a force field, are angels troops? What kinda weapons would be developed to get through the hoop? Can you spray paint the force field, rendering the angel blind?
