The Cold War was the dominant ideological force from the end of WW2 to the fall of the USSR. Literally every political event that happened in that time is intertwined with it.
And again, as soon as the Cold War ended liberal forces stated dismantling all the reforms they enacted during the war. The connection is extremely obvious.
