Issue doesn’t seem to have been caused by him this time? They retired the car.
Edit: he said collision with Hamilton caused retirement. He was losing pace before that though, so that’s on him.
Everything that led up to that is his fault though. So whilst the contact and the resulting damage wasn’t his fault, the fact that he was in that situation at all was.
If you consider that Perez pinched Hamilton on the inside, you could even say the resulting contact was his fault too.
Touching the curb is what caused Hamilton to understeer. The more dramatic slide a moment later is him trying to get the car to turn instead of sliding straight into Perez.
If Perez gives him enough room on the inside, Hamilton stays off of the curb and everyone proceeds about their day.
