trademarks are good for 10 years and looking at some of twitters trademarks it seems the renewed them in 2019. So yes, in 2029, if X hasn’t reverted to being called twitter then their trademarks will be unprotected.
A sane CEO wouldn’t drop the recognisable twitter name fully. I’m expecting a rebranding like “X is the super app, the part where you post texts is X.twitter, your messages are X.dm and future sub applications under X are named similarly”
