    Random thought this inspired: does this mean the old Twitter copyrights and trademarks are going unused and unprotected?

      trademarks are good for 10 years and looking at some of twitters trademarks it seems the renewed them in 2019. So yes, in 2029, if X hasn’t reverted to being called twitter then their trademarks will be unprotected.

        A sane CEO wouldn’t drop the recognisable twitter name fully. I’m expecting a rebranding like “X is the super app, the part where you post texts is X.twitter, your messages are X.dm and future sub applications under X are named similarly”
