That really is the perfect quote. We plebeyans fight each other over scraps while the bourgeoisie protects their own. This is why we’re losing and they’re winning.

This is all so dumb. So many options for Apple here. If they lose this case they could:

• Include a “choose your search provider” during Safari startup. Or prompt during setup assistant. Apple still gets paid, but note by all the search engines, and now it’s the customer’s choice.
• Start their own search engine. They have all the pieces already. Push the privacy angle, sell ads like they do in the App Store and news apps.
