the global south will eventually overtake the west; but only if the global north doesn’t do something to something to end it all for everyone rather than seeing their grip on control slip away. (i fully expect them to do something).

those countries economically & physically nearest former traditional colonial powers (ie mexico, scotland, catalonia, taiwan, ukraine, korea, etc.) will get the feel the effects last as the colonial grip on their economies and zeitgeists weakens enough to allow brics to become a significant enough factor to supplant their domineering neighbors. until such time, they each will suffer at the hands of their more powerful neighbors while simultaneously watching brics overtake the west and pine for the day that they too can join the brics party.
