Summary

Trump revoked Biden’s executive order that affirmed the inclusion of all residents in census results, regardless of immigration status.

This action clears the path for potential changes in how the 2030 census will be conducted, including the possibility of excluding non-citizens from apportionment counts.

The Supreme Court has yet to rule on the constitutionality of such exclusions.

I guess but not taking the opportunity to keep your rights is just flat out dumb. Oh that other person should have acted more to protect my rights, how can I be expected to take responsibility for my right of suffrage.

Rights…such as the right to free speech, assembly and protest against Israel’s war crimes, which Biden admitted were such this past weekend? How about the right to women’s bodily autonomy, which Biden has had 2 opportunities to codify into law while in the White House?

Yeah, he should have acted more. Actually doing things to help people motivates future voter turnout. If Dems don’t figure out basic politics such as this, they will continue to lose in embarrassing fashion, even to fascist garbage like Trump.

Um, yeah it’s obvious what Trump would do based on his actions from his last term. He should be in prison for all kinds of high crimes, and yet Biden’s DOJ didn’t even move to prosecute for 2 years, ensuring Trump had time to delay and evade justice. This is because the elites don’t wish to hold themselves accountable, regardless of the letter next to their name. Dems want to appear to do the right thing, but not effect any meaningful change.

Biden promised his donors that nothing will fundamentally change. He delivered on that one, and now the working class is waking up to the unfortunate reality that Dems work for their donors, not their voters. Turnout reflected this. If Dems actually want to win, we need to demand they do better, and they need to be willing to change. I’ve seen no evidence of this occurring, so get ready for an even worse loss for Dems in upcoming elections.

yes those rights which I saw a lot of people utilize in the last four years and I hope they can infuture. You are full of shit that biden can pass laws. thats not how the presidency works. it was past non voters that got the judiciary that gave us those. would have been much better under president gore but folks wanted to allow bush jr to do his thing. biden has nothing to do with folks throwing their society to the wolves and then trying to say its someone elses fault. you had the vote at that point. please continue your blame of anyone but.

Biden didn’t do jack shit to further those rights, and arguably fumbled so badly he actively diminished them. The president is supposed to use his influence to ensure the rest of the party passes meaningful policy while in power - do you see any republicans stepping out of line regarding Trump’s wishes? But sure, keep deluding yourself into thinking the Dems do a good job because they aren’t Trump. That bar is laughably low, and Biden still stumbled on it.

Liberalism enables fascism, it cannot defeat it.

This is so ignorant of how our political systems work. Things can’t happen that fast. Not lowering the bar is a significant thing when its regularly lowered, especially if you comparing years back. Most democratic first terms at best are rising the bar back to where it was when the republicans took office. Then idiots complain about the bar not having been moved. Second term, when they get it, they might get it a bit higher but usually they are being fought tooth and nail not for it to happen. All the same it does and yeah they have to right the economy to which takes some work. If the economy is not righted you will get that many more voting based on someones bs promises. Its like the electorate is made up of two type of children and then adults. one child believes whatever fantasy is spewed, another realizes that is bull but still wants all their fantasies done with no grounding in the reality of what it takes to get it done and then there are the pragmatic adults who realize you want good over bad or even ok over bad and better is better than worse.
