5.4s are shit. Do they still use them? We had them on our 2011ish trucks. They were ok for what we needed, but I wouldn’t want one for a personal vehicle.
I don’t know, but I’ve got one sort of hung around my neck. Both the 2 valve and 3 valve motors seem to be garbage. From my 10 seconds of internet research, it looks like most of the motors are now the turbo 6s as they have more HP and TQ but there are continued issues with them. Really makes me wish I had something GM with a fairly bulletproof LS based motor :(
I used to fe l like Ford was good. Then I got one of their 5.4 liter motors. Oof.
