Just ran across something weird. Using Voyager in iOS, the original link
football@lemm.eedoesn’t show me the option to subscribe. However, if I open a post and go to the community from there, it’sFootball@lemm.ee(uppercase first letter) and then I can subscribeSounds like a bug that should be raised to the voyager dev, community names should be case insensitive. You can make a report here, if you don’t have a github account I can do it for you if you want?
Glad we’re off dot world. I never had a huge issue with it but where there’s smoke there’s fire I think.
I feel pretty sympathetic with the admin team. They’re in a spot where it’s impossible to not make one group or another angry. They are probably doing their best to create a nice server. It’s clear from their ad hoc rules that the team keep facing new problems they weren’t expecting.
Yes, they’re in a bit of a unique position. I’ve seen some of their admins just wishing people would go elsewhere to release the load on a bit
They’re just too big. Once communities will be spread more evenly they’ll probably realize they can’t just dictate how the whole platform behaves
