I had set the filler rod very close to the pliers, close enough that my thumb touched it.
I didn’t feel it; I heard and smelled it. Made my way over to the sink to run it under some cold water. It didn’t bubble or blister, I just had a 2 or 3 mm deep ashen white grill mark across my thumb. The wildest part is it healed perfectly, not even a hint of a scar.
