Climate campaigners have accused Donald Trump of attacking Britain’s energy policies on behalf of the fossil fuel industry, which made record donations to his presidential campaign.
The US president-elect wrote in a social media post on Friday that the British government was gravely mistaken by cracking down on North Sea oil and gas producers – and that the UK should abandon wind generation.
The broadside appeared to be a clear condemnation of the Labour government’s decision to raise taxes for oil and gas producers while granting record subsidies to new wind power projects.
It’s simple really. We need as much cheap power produced as possible. With whatever taxes we need to produce them. Gas has had tax cuts my entire life so society could run on oil. It’s time to replace oil with the electron, and trumpo is only concerned with the people that won’t upgrade to electricity generation and are going to lose a lot of money, not keeping society running on cheaply produced resources paid for with taxes from industries. He wants you to just pay more for subpar technology.
America is worlds largest oil exporter. Their raison d’être is killing people, stealing their oil and selling it for big bucks. If the oil markets crash America will be very >:(
