Called it. Elon’s doing exactly what I thought he would do: https://aus.social/@ajsadauskas/109979152813584947

Twitter is dead.

There is no point in trying to hold on to what Twitter used to be. What Twitter used to be no longer exists.

It died the moment Elon walked in the building.

    Yup.

This is why I jumped ship to Mastodon in October 2022 when he pulled that moronic stunt with the sink. Elon no longer cares about being seen as a visionary. He’s an out-and-proud chad.

Time for me to jump ship too. I’ve just realized that I was mainly on twitter just to follow one person, and they have jumped ship already.

He should be awarded, a prize for the person who did the most for federation.

Seriously, I had heard of the Fediverse, Mastodon, and even Lemmy years ago. I joined but didn’t really follow frequently due to how little activity there was on the platforms. Musk and Spez have done wonders in making the Fediverse a truly viable alternative social media platform and hopefully ensuring the same sort of corporate enshittification can’t happen to us again because now we’re on open, decentralized platforms not controlled by corporations.
