But on the way home I had so many ideas what to do. And they’ll come back… once I try to sleep.

    100%

So, I fixed it! I have a lot of privilege in being able to do this but my job can be done remotely. Right now I’m living in Spain and working in EST so my local working hours are 1500-2300 so I get to have the full morning to get my blood pumping and enjoy before heading to work.

My partner gets the same appointment anxiety (any day we have an appointment she is nervous about doing anything before it). It’s a difficult thing to overcome but she’s had success with counseling and delegating more schedule management to me.

I used to work a job that rotated shifts every month, when I was in my early 20s evening shift was best: wake up at the crack of 10am, chill or run and errand or two, head to work at 2:30, off at 10:30 so had enough time to haul ass to town and hang out at the bars

Night shift was okay. get off in the morning and come home and having beers at 8AM is kind of weird though. But that’s where I tasted that appointment anxiety first.

These days, I don’t know if I could function outside of day shift
