Summary

Syrian troops withdrew from southern provinces of Daraa and Sweida to reinforce Homs, a key city under threat from insurgents.

The rapid advances by opposition fighters, led by the jihadi Hayat Tahrir al-Sham group, aim to overthrow Assad’s government and threaten Syria’s territorial integrity.

The situation is further complicated by the withdrawal of Iran’s military advisers and fighters, leaving Assad’s government with limited access to the outside world.

If there’s one thing that libs love, it’s gotta be “moderate rebels” (aka religious extremists that serve this empire).

The advances in the past week were among the largest in recent years by opposition factions, led by a group that has its origins in al-Qaida and is considered a terrorist organization by the U.S. and the United Nations.

We’re cautiously hopeful about HTS because the reports from the Christian minority is that they are being tolerant of them.

It’s a one bad guy taking area from 3 other bad guys.

If anyone is funding it is Turkey.

While I’m glad Russia and Iran are losing grip I’m not excited about the replacement either. I’m glad that it is hurting their power though.
