This is an off-the-cuff brainstorm to grow /c/NBA and the fediverse.

Lemmy and the fediverse have scene solid and steady growth since the reddi API-ocalypse.

However, we had a more active year our first year compared to this year (so far) in /c/NBA. Probably in no small part to the lack of high seas support on this instance.

I have been pondering on how to grow this community but also make it unique in NBA/sports fandom.

I am gravitating towards some group-oriented ideas–a little pretend gambling, a little streamlined fantasy sportsing (hyper simplified), some end of season award voting, etc.

Before elaborating on anything in particular: does anyone have some big ideas they’ve been sitting on they’d like to share? I will share some below as well.
