Summary

Anti-Trump Americans, especially on the left, are showing a more subdued response to Trump’s 2024 reelection compared to the activism of 2016.

Exhaustion, disillusionment with repeated setbacks, and negative media coverage have led many to disengage from politics or shift focus to personal priorities.

Activist groups, like Women’s March, are planning protests but acknowledge lower enthusiasm and more localized efforts.

Experts suggest this “tune-out” may be a coping mechanism, with some hoping new, non-political participants will lead change.

Many feel drained but believe activism will eventually regain momentum.

This has more to do with people feeling unrepresented in a FPTP-voting system polarizing the country to the extreme. Between that and wealth-inequality trouble is brewing.

How dense are you? People are just tired from decades worth of having corporations and wealthy elites push the middle and lower class into the ground.

‘Please do the bare minimum to stop fascism.’

          ‘No.’

‘Oh for fuck’s sake, I’m just gonna get drunk.’

‘See, the fascism is your fault.’

Do you understand that elections decide who is in power?

Merely being in office, instead of fascists, is the first line of defense in stopping fascists. This election was about: do you want fascists in power? And y’all said, who cares. Not us. You. We voted against that shit. You could not be arsed.

When I say that democrats have no interest in stopping fascism I mean to say that they actively use it as a tool to maintain political power. You could even call them fascist. The Democrats and the Republicans are two sides of the capitalist party and the capitalist party is becoming increasingly fascist.

That isn’t an argument, it’s a tantrum. ‘We did nothing and it’s your fault and both sides and’ blah blah blah.

Liberals are burnt out dealing with you. You can’t even tick a box to stop unambiguous authoritarian bigotry. Y’all wanna claim pragmatism over idealism - and then turn around and whinge about lesser evils. Good luck with the revolution or whatever else you’re not gonna do. We’re gonna be over here, checked out, for painfully obvious reasons.

Lol, I voted. Made my partner happy but changed nothing. When will you get it through your skull that you need to join organization, teach, unionize protest, and aid eachother? When will you do more than vote? Not all of us have the privilege of being safe when the democrats run their campaign into the ground. Quitting will just get the people you claim to protect killed. Its not a fucking tantrum. You a child in the backseat of your parent’s car holding a steering and convinced you are driving. Politicans don’t give a shit about your opinion. You are either an obstacle or a tool to them. Plenty of Germans “checked out” too, I am sure. Plenty of Germans believed the people dying had it coming.

You seem to have forgotten to consider the long term effects of repeatedly voting for the lesser evil.

We have been moving further right every election and you haven’t noticed. Voting for the same two factions of the same party won’t and has never changed anything.

I could spent a bunch of time writing this in text, but I hope these two images give you a good picture.

The bare minimum to stop fascism is to actually solve the root of the problem. As we all know, things aren’t going very well. The world can be an unfair place and these injustices can cause quite a bit of frustration, and this frustration causes a want for change. If things aren’t well, we want to change them.

However, some people are benefiting immensely in our current system, at the expense of others, and would, therefore, like to keep thing exactly the way they are. As such, they would like to find a way to counteract this movement for change. And that’s where fascism comes into the picture.

Instead of actually solving the problem, those in power choose to instead blame some small minority for the countries shortcomings. To do so they make use of many tactics, too many to explain here, but they are always changing their wording to plant that thought-seed in the minds of the people. The though-seed being the idea that, in the past, the country was way way better than today and the reason why things have been declining is due to some “intruders” who have corrupted the “purity” of the country.

Obviously, since that minority who is being scapegoated isn’t responsible for the countries problems, things do not improve very much. As such the complaining starts again. And again a minority is blamed. This cycle of blaming continues until the country just collapses into a dictatorship, where the only ones part of the us are the dictator as his cronies.

This is how I look at fascism anyways. Now, this problem is systemic, which implies a problem with the system itself. As such, we will need to fix the system in other to solve the problem, and voting for the two parties who benefit from the system will not do anything.

‘The bare minimum is a perfect solution’ is why people can’t talk to y’all about anything.

Democrats target likely voters. If you’re telling people not to vote… that’s not you.
