I’m using Jerboa v0.0.40 and I can upload images just fine in any community from any other servers, but it doesn’t work with communities hosted on sh.itjust.works. Error I get it “Value <html> of type java.lang.string cannot…” I can’t see the end of the message.

It’s an issue with Jerboa, not your instance.

Thank you for this. I just joined and then it wouldn’t let me log in, I thought I did something bad 😆

I was wondering myself for a while as well😛

I even tried to search in this instance for a answer to why it couldn’t load before thinking to look for some external source

I liked jerboa, but I had so many issues I ended up switching to liftoff. I couldn’t change my account settings, could rarely post comments, and could never start a thread. Looking at their git, other people had the same issues for weeks with no real fix, so I jumped to liftoff, which isn’t perfect, but at least everything works. I want something as close to baconreader as possible.

It’s the unfortunate reality of alpha apps, it’s not even in beta yet. But it’s getting better every day and I’m impressed by how often updates are happening! I may give lift off a shot though if it’s working better for you.

The last time this happened to me, and then I retried in a browser, I found the image was being rejected due to a size limit. Jerboa just doesn’t handle the error properly.
