        That’s partly it. I tried to find the article I read about it but another reason is that once they’ve “elevated” themselves in their new home they view newcomers like they’re bringing down the status of the established immigrant community. They’re often poor and lack any educational or have financial skills to deal with the new country and get pushed down by the established community that’s trying to climb the social and economic ladder too.
