Aren’t most of these “recalls” just software updates? How does it fare in actual physical recalls?
Most are OTA software updates. This stat is useless and deliberately misleading
What are the 9% of cars that are worse?
Little tike plastic reds
Those are a good deal safer than a Tesla. You won’t burn to death in a Little Tike because rescue services can’t open the doors, or break the windows.
I saw a black cyber truck this weekend. My wife and I both laughed. Mate, you can’t make it invisible by painting it black.
Such a hideous vehicle.
You have to wrap the Cybertruck to prevent body rust.
wheeze 🤣
No no, they are not trying to make it invisible, Cybertrunk buyers wants the attention it provides, good or bad. The wrap is probably for rust and looks.
Wait, isn’t it stainless steel?
Unfortunately for Tesla saltwater can still corrode many forms of stainless steel. And the roads in many places get covered in salt and water.
It will probably still hold up better than a carbon steel body panel with compromised paint, so I wouldn’t expect the panels to just rust through anytime soon. But I would expect some discoloring and pitting.
Frankly, the cybertruck rust is 100% inexcusable. Elon Musk is absolutely incompetent compared to John Delorean, who managed to pick the right stainless steel alloy even while being distracted by both the Troubles and cocaine smuggling.
What vehicles are worse than the Cybertruck?
Ford as a hobby or something issues recalls.
The good news is they’re pretty quick and responsive to fix their issues unlike Toyota which will wait until the NHTSA forces them to issue a recall.
Toyota seems to be a pretty shitty company all around.
I mean, Dodge still makes cars.
I actually couldn’t find which specific models have had more recalls to date than Cybertruck (only projections for the future), but based on data from https://www.iseecars.com/car-recall-study#v=2024 , it’s not looking good for Porsche or Tesla.
Dodge is a brand made by Chrysler, just fyi.
I’m quite aware of the relationships between automotive manufacturers.
