From what I’ve gathered lower ranks got moved up a bit and higher ranks got pushed down a bit so that ranks followed a more normal distribution curved than they were at.

    After 8 matches today I’ve noticed a much better match quality than the last 2 weeks.

    The previous week was nearly unplayable with every match having 1-2 players just 0-10 feeding making things impossible for one of the teams.

    Today pretty much every match went 40+ minutes and didn’t have anyone that was clearly overmatched. I’m in a region with a high player count so I’m sure that helps.

      That makes me hopeful, I’ve had some truly awful games lately and had a pretty bad loss streak where I felt completely powerless as my teammates were losing every lane. And on the flip side the games I won last week were similar stomps where the poorly matched players were on the other side and we won in 20-25 minutes with like a 50k soul lead.

      Feels bad since the even matches where everyone is on comms and talking to each other are so fun. But I’m struggling to break into that MMR range, I had matches like that in early ranked but I’ve been slipping since then and now I’m back to 50% of people not using their mic.

    Initiate rank no longer exists in Australia. Between these changes and the declining population, the lowest ranked player here is now Seeker III.

      Yeah I wonder how far off they’re planning the full release.

      They’ve definitely improved a lot since it came out but the low population has made matchmaking and ranks not the best which I think has pushed some people away at least for now.

      Probably needs to be released on consoles as well to open it up to more people than just PC.

        For sure. I quit a couple weeks before ranked came out because the majority of matches were so unbalanced it wasn’t fun, even winning had little joy. I’ll be back when I see consensus that it’s been greatly improved.

        The game still feels a fair way off to me. The recent experimentation with soul sharing and jungle camps is a pretty clear indication that they’re still trying to settle on an identity, and there is still a lot art finalisation and bug fixing to go through. It’s probably going to get quite rough for some of us in smaller regions - the ranked pool here is only ~1800 players now, a drop of ~500 players from the previous week. I’m still having fun for now, though.
