    An interesting fact is that the original fascist symbol is a bundle of sticks and an ax. The bundle of sticks was supposed to mean exactly this image. And the Mussolini Fascist Party was strongly against communism.

      They still used leftist language to entice and engage with the working class. Like many fascists do. See Trump for example.

      the fasces have existed looong before Mussolini ever came along. It originates in ancient Greece iirc and has been used by various actors (often revolutionaries) to symbolize collective power in post-classical times at least. The story of the fasces is a good analogy for Fascism in general: it was often used by progressives and revolutionaries but then that symbolism was perverted by the far right to protect the exploiting elite
