Summary

At a European summit in Budapest, UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer assured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of the UK’s “iron-clad” support for Ukraine amidst concerns over potential shifts in U.S. aid following Donald Trump’s election victory.

European leaders, including Hungary’s Viktor Orban, emphasized the need for Europe to take more responsibility for its defense, with Orban cautioning against over-reliance on the U.S.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte warned of the threats posed by Russia and its allies, while Starmer urged Ukraine’s allies to strengthen their commitment to supporting Kyiv.

As a Russian, you are losing this war. You don’t get to have a vote, you’ll get conscripted against your will and will be gone within 3 months.

Just a friendly reminder that in the real world, the country that cancelled its presidential elections this year and is conducting forced mobilization is Ukraine. In Russia, the presidential elections were held six months ago and the forced mobilization ended two years ago.

Oh i thought that according to .world’s lore it’s NK soldiers fighting for the bowl of rice there… I’ll have to educate myself better with your mythology. Anyway, in real world draftees were deployed there exactly because it wasn’t warzone. Could you please provide some links to proof that they are actively used there right now?

Edit: well, i think that some things should be clarified for people who would be reading this in future. Conscription (draft) and mobilization is two different things. The first (conscription) means compulsory military training for young males of specific age which fit for military service. You shouldn’t be used in active military action if you’re conscrpited. Both Russia and Ukraine had draft before the war, with a military age from 18 till 27, inherited from Soviet Union. After the beginning of the war Russia has raised upper limit of its military age to 30 and Ukraine has abandoned draft as such. The second (mobilization) is forced military service with the goal of taking part in war action. Russia had one round of mobilization in the end of 2022. Ukraine has general mobilization non-stop from 2022. Both mobilizations caused crisises, although pretty different ones as Russia has its borders open while Ukraine has its borders closed for military fit males.
