Did it happen due to fearmongring? fear of losing the patriarchy fear of losing white supremacy fear of dying in ukraine for some reason??? (I have at least seen several strange comments that people would die from kamala harris sending soldiers to Ukraine? which seems like just a typical russian bot thing, but maybe people beilive it)

oh yea, and voter supression. It’s most likely that kamala won the popular vote, but it’s not like america is democratic…

Look to the french election, if it was the same first past the post two party system there, then the far-right would be in control, instead - the left wing alliance is the biggest party now.

Harris lost the popular vote. It happened because Dems have no actual idea of what Americans live through, what they’re currently talking suffering through, no idea what they want.

I mean they keep pushing right thinking that’s why Trump won… But it’s simply not. Trump acknowledging American suffering is why. Exclusively.

If one party is telling you you’re stupid and the economy is doing great and you’re better off than you’ve ever been; and the other party is acknowledging you’re actually suffering more than you have in any non pandemic year… You’re going to distrust the first party and give the second the benefit of the doubt, or at least distrust the first party.

If Dems stopped being smug, arrogant, right wing assholes and at least acknowledge the problems Americans face, they’d get a lot more votes. Promising to continue Biden’s terrible domestic policies while lying to the American public about shit the American public is living through… That’s a guaranteed loss.

oh wow, yea seems like he’s leading it pretty far

I’m a european so I don’t know about the democrats saying things are rosy - but trump blaming immigrants, gays and deep state for inflation is pretty stupid - it’s not like he’s going to improve anything?

        I 100% beilive it’s also because harris is a woman - somehow america still hasn’t had one¯\_(ツ)_/¯

politicans are only in it for themselves after all

To your point on Trump, his supporters are a diverse group, most don’t believe what the media reports on him (see: the media blindly repeating the government’s lie that the economy is doing fine), and those that do genuinely believe it will solve their problems thanks to decades of suffering and not ever being helped by more positive policies.

To your second point, not really. The most misogynist groups believe Harris has been running the country since Biden more or less admitted he was unfit for office. They’ve internalized that a woman is currently president. If a woman wholly unrelated to the Biden campaign came out swinging against biden and Trump while acknowledging the dem party’s failures, she would have won, in a landslide. There would definitely be holdouts, but theyre never going to vote dem.

Americans can’t afford both food and rent, they sincerely do not give a shit about the presidents genitals. As evidence, neither side talked about gender or sex this election cycle. There were no 'are we ready for a woman president’s nonsense articles.

Just objectively a bad candidate, running the second worst dem campaign in modern history, while trying to gaslight people into believing they’re better off than they actually are

Sadly looking at dem votes going back to 2004. Dem votes have been consistent in 60mil ish range. Except for Biden who got way more. I dk what motivated them last time that wasn’t there this time.
