I don’t blame people in the US for believing that, when more than half your population (who actually voted) decided to vote Trump in (again).
Like the guy is unironically a treasonous criminal con-man so obviously under Russia’s (or more specifically Putin’s) influence it’s laughable.
He is “confident” which for most means simple being a giant asshole without a hint of introspection or care for others. It’s a trait people love because they wish they could bear being a giant asshole themselves but their fear of unfavorable judgement from others keeps them in check.
Stop it with the sugarcoating. He’s a fascist, a Nazi. He promises to inflict pain on others, and that’s what’s appealing to half of American voters. Not the “confidence”. They get off on the hate and cruelty, whether they admit it or not. They are, in every literal sense of the word, textbook fascists. No need to make excuses for them.
This video explains it well:

Basically Trump is a very American person, stemming from a very American history and culture.
He’s not an ideal, he’s not what they want American history and culture to have been. He’s a product of what it actually has been.
Doesn’t this just say more about how much people hate Kamala? Racism/Sexism included.
Yes it does. And there are people in drag’s replies today saying they’re sorry drag’s friends are going to be murdered, but it’s not their fault they didn’t vote.
Fuck them. Fascists.

All of that may be true, but it’s easily overlooked by his voters because they hate immigrants so very VERY much.
You mean they are racist? Because they love the work they do as long as they don’t need to see them and still buy their products. We all know they won’t do their work either.
Very à propos
Yossarian the Squirrel
If everyone you meet is an asshole, maybe it’s you.
No no trust me, I’m right because it’s me.
literally
\sigh
It was used correctly in this instance. The actual joke is centered on him saying that it is literally everyone else.
