I used to follow the progress of Florisboard and stoped hearing from it a while back. I was anxiously waiting for swipe gestures and French predictive text.
I went to the GitHub, and while I see a few commits past June, latest release is more than a year old.
Was the project abandoned ?
It suffered the fate of almost all small projects when the author decides to rewrite from scratch: they get abandoned.
You can use OpenBoard fork with gesture typing: https://github.com/erkserkserks/openboard/releases I was told it uses Google’s gesture library which isn’t foss, but as long as there’s no internet connection, it should be fine hopefully
