Finally finished the whole group! From left to right: Inquisitor Coteaz, Interrogator, Sister of Battle, Scrollboi, Feral Worlder, Mystic, Servitor, Booksy the Book Skull, Joe Krabo, and “Daemonhost”.

I’d painted up Coteaz years ago (and it’s good I did because his new model sucks lol). Eventually they’ll all be based in the same style as Coteaz but the texture paint I use is all dried up.

Close-ups of individual models in comments.

Depending on what part of it interests you, there are other, cheaper ways to engage with the hobby.

On the painting/modelling side, you can get 3d prints, recasts, or minis for other game systems. The cheapest are probably generic minis from Reaper or WizKids; the base crab model I painted is $4.50USD on Reaper’s site, for instance.

On the playing the game side, you can buy Tabletop Simulator on Steam and play 40k online. It’s a bit janky, but it’s a hell of a lot cheaper ($10 for TTS on sale vs several hundred for physical). There should be other players online, probably in discord servers, not all of whom will be nazis. Some people even made a coop “horde mode” that uses a simple flow-chart for the “AI” opposition so you could solo play if you wanted to.

Having a group is definitely the biggest hurdle to get over, though. I’m just lucky that I had a few friends that all decided to start 40k at the same time.
