    Thursday’s early voting numbers topped the previous record for the first day of early voting – 348,559, set in 2020 – by 1.3 percent.

    I have to think this is a positive sign, but I cautiously maintain a tepid sense of hope.

      Well, last time there were a total of about 5.4M votes cast in NC, and Trump won by less than 100,000. If we assume that most of that early vote is Democratic, because off all the trash talking Trump has been doing about early and mail-in voting, then that could be a good sign.
