Same, in the end, both communities want to fuck cars. We should focus on what unites us, not what divides us 👍.

Anyone who’s into cars would likely agree with a lot of what Fuckcars says.

I love driving! I want there to be fewer drivers on the road so I can enjoy it more. I don’t want to sit in a traffic jam because everyone’s forced to drive. And when I’m drinking alcohol, guess what, I’m not driving, I want to be able to walk home safely. That’s of course just one reason to walk. Sometimes I just want to walk to the grocery store with my family for, y’know, the health benefits of walking.

And you know what? I live in Europe, I can do all this and that’s why I like driving here. I don’t wanna sit in an Interstate traffic jam lol

Sorry, but I’m honestly hoping Cars wins this. Fuckcars is so obnoxious and pretentious. Like, I get it, cars are terrible for the environment/communal spaces, but there’s a lot that needs to change before everyone can eliminate their personal vehicle. That sub acts like you’re Satan if you own a car.

ETA: thanks for proving my point with all of the vitriol. One guy blaming cancer on me for my cars brakes. One guy openly admitting that you don’t get change unless you upset people so why be nice? Except, you have to upset the right people. Not your potential allies. That just alienates instead. But hey, keep yelling at a guy who said you yell too much. That will really show em 😂

I think most people in that sub are American car owners that are advocating for cities to be less car dependant

And as someone who lives in California right by where the “high speed rail” that’s been promised for decades will be built, I’ll again point out that until other things progress, you cant remove cars, and acting any differently, like that sub often does, shows their niavette.

it sounds like you’re still missing the point of both communities: the fuckcars crowd want improved non-car options; the cars crowd want complain about people using alternatives that inconvenience them when they drive.

no one’s advocating abolishing cars. there’s plenty who are pissed off at entitled drivers and rightfully so; but only the clueless want abolishment and that’s contrary to the point.

Sure! So how do things progress towards more walkable cities, with useable public transit?

Oh yeah. People gotta get pissed enough to actually have the motivation to effect real change.

So drive your disposable $40,000 gutless wonder to and from everything, I’ll continue to give you the finger every time you forget people who ride bikes exist.

And take my cabriolet on the occasional pleasure cruise, because it’s actually worth driving.

Because yeah, cars can be cool. But not on the fucking daily, that’s exhausting. Zing!

Their main problem is they want to only advocate their ideal world, ignoring all the necessary steps in-between. Real “society is evil so go live in the woods instead” vibes. They don’t want to be a part of current society, and often don’t want to be a part of the actual change - they just want to live in an imagined utopia.
