I remember downvote farming as a hobby on Reddit; they even had a few subreddits with leaderboards. I never really understood the appeal but I just came up with a theory:
I think it might be a fetish. Kind of like those people that like to be humiliated and/or punished. Is it the punishment and scorn that excites you?
That being said, you definitely deserve all the bans you collect like trophies.
I think it’s still relevant since at the end he got banned from the community anyway, actually ironically for this very post. They banned him for this post because he couldn’t hold off on the bad behavior for even 24 hours.
